Arthur Wade Walker

Arthur Wade "Doog" Walker, age 91, of Sophia died Sunday, October 4, 2015 at his home. Mr. Walker was born January 10, 1924 son of Arthur and Lona Belle Frazier Walker. He was a native of Randolph County and served in the US Army during WWII where he was a recipient of a purple heart. "Doog" was a self employed saw miller. Arthur is preceded in death by his son Bobby Simmons. He is survived by his grandson, Zach Simmons of Sophia; nieces, Helen Moore, Margaret Hill and Brenda Forbis; great nephew, Jim Forbis, and Wade Trieglaff. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 2:00 PM at South Plainfield Friends Meeting, 4033 Plainfield Road, Sophia with Rev. Hugh C. Spaulding officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.. Memorials may be made to South Plainfield Friends Meeting, 4033 Plainfield Road, Sophia, NC 27350.
