Armond Van Hulst, age 85, of Asheboro passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Randolph Hospice House.

Mr. Van Hulst was born in Rotterdam, Netherlands on April 18, 1933 to Gerrit Tys and Tryntje Catherine Storm Van Hulst.  Armond served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration as an Air Traffic Equipment Engineer.  In addition to his parents, Armond was preceded in death by his brothers, Arndt, George, and Frans and sisters, Joanne Hancock Goerzen and Connie Delight.  

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Carol Williams Van Hulst; son, Shawn Van Hulst and finacee Pamela Hatcher of Apex; daughters, Shelly Ingle and husband Fred of New London, Leah Stephanie Smith and husband Darren of Miamisburg, OH, and Sharlotte Brooks and husband Daniel of Asheboro; grandchildren, Jessica Grace Van Hulst, Luke Van Hulst, Bradley Van Hulst, Benjimen Braydon Ingle, Leah Elizabeth Ingle, Rachael Alivia Brooks, and Nathan Lee Smith; and sisters, Trudy Dyring of Salt Lake City, UT and Leah Newhouse of Salt Lake City, UT.

A private service will be held at the Salisbury National Cemetery.

Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is serving the Van Hulst family.
