Annie Ruth Turner, age 60, of 915 Lindsy Dr., Troy died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Community Baptist Church, Currie Rd., Candor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Ms. Turner was born in Whiteville, NC on June 5, 1951 to Ernest and Reba Elnita Simmons Coleman. She was a retired caregiver. She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Gillis of Mt. Gilead, NC, Linda Rodriguez of Candor, NC, Ellen Rose Coleman of Asheboro, NC; son, Jerry Lee Turner of Troy, NC; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Janie Callicutt of Troy, NC, Edna Callicutt of the Lovejoy Community, NC, Judy Hancock of Star, NC, Ann Sanders of Biscoe, NC; and brothers, Danny Coleman of Star, NC, Melvis Coleman of Star, NC, and William Coleman of Cherryville, NC. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC.
