Annie Cornelia Newby

Annie Cornelia Robbins Newby, age 88, of Sophia passed from this life to be with her Jesus Monday, May 14, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Newby loved her family and her God. One of her favorite pastimes was canning vegetables grown by her husband Garland and her son Jerry. She is preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Alma Bridges Robbins. The family wants to extend a special thanks for the loving care given to their mother by hospice and especially nurse Glenda Swails and CNA Amanda Cheek. She is survived by her husband: Garland Newby of the home; children: Jerry Newby of Sophia, Louise N. Brim and her husband R.J of Sophia, Paul Newby and his wife Ramona of Sophia, Bonnie N. Laughlin of Asheboro, and Peggy N. Hinshaw and her husband Gary of Randleman; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters: Treva Browder of Winston- Salem and Betty Ogle and her husband Bruce of Randleman; brother: Aaron Robbins and his wife Claudia of Randleman. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from 6:30-8:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC and other times at the home. The funeral will be held Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 4:00 pm at Sophia Baptist Church, 4082 Millikan Rd., Sophia with Rev. Bill Barnes and Ashton Loyd officiating.
