Annie Lois Foster Thorp, age 85, of 500 Mountain Top Drive, Asheboro passed peacefully and went home to be with her Lord, Friday, August 13, 2010 at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro.
Mrs. Thorp was born November 7, 1924 in Grays Chapel Community, NC, the daughter of Delbert P. and Maude (Mills) Foster.
Mrs. Thorp was a native of Randolph County and a member of Grays Chapel United Methodist Church. She was formerly employed with Walgreens Drug Store and a homemaker. Mrs. Thorp was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Thorp, her parents, three brothers: D. P. Foster, James Foster and Herman Foster; one sister: Evie Foster Saunders.
She is survived by four sons: Ricky D. Rich of Asheboro, NC, Odell Rich and Bobby Rich both of Easley, SC, Darrell Rich and his wife, Gladys of Asheboro, NC; five daughters: Jean King and her husband, Darrell of Asheboro, NC; Linda Robbins and her husband Tommy, Carol Rich, Sue Garner and her husband, Billy all of Asheboro, NC, Bonnie Sheffield and her husband, Willie of Seagrove, NC; 22 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 15, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at her sons home: Ricky Rich, 3149 NC Hwy 42, South, Asheboro.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Grays Chapel United Methodist Church, 5056 N.C. Hwy 22 North, Franklinville with Pastor Johnny R. Henderson and Rev. Bruce Harry, II officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
