Anne Birkhead Worsley

Anne Birkhead Worsley, age 84, of Asheboro died Friday, February 11, 2011 at her home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Oaklawn Cemetery with Rev. Michael Holder officiating. Ms. Worsley was born in Asheboro, NC on August 21, 1926 to John W. and Maxine Redding Birkhead. She was a graduate of W.C.U.N.C, received her Master's Degree from UNC-G and did her graduate work at Columbia University in New York City, NY. She was a retired school teacher and was formerly taught at Asheboro City Schools, Pinecrest High School, Sandhills Community College, UNC-G, Vardell Hall, and Rocky Mount High School. She was also formerly employed with Belk Stores Services, Inc. and UNC-Chapel Hill. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Delta Kappa Gamma. Anne was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Deborah Ellen Worsley. There are no immediate survivors. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
