Anne Birkhead Worsley, age 84, of Asheboro died Friday, February 11, 2011 at her home.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Oaklawn Cemetery with Rev. Michael Holder officiating.
Ms. Worsley was born in Asheboro, NC on August 21, 1926 to John W. and Maxine Redding Birkhead. She was a graduate of W.C.U.N.C, received her Master's Degree from UNC-G and did her graduate work at Columbia University in New York City, NY. She was a retired school teacher and was formerly taught at Asheboro City Schools, Pinecrest High School, Sandhills Community College, UNC-G, Vardell Hall, and Rocky Mount High School. She was also formerly employed with Belk Stores Services, Inc. and UNC-Chapel Hill. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Delta Kappa Gamma. Anne was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Deborah Ellen Worsley.
There are no immediate survivors.
