Ann Varner, born June 8, 1914, recently of Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, died, Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home.
Ann was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School of that city. Ann loved to travel, and enjoyed her Sunday School, the Elderberries and ECU. She enjoyed doing crafts and painting and had many examples of her arts in her former home.
She is survived by her sisters, Mary Michaels of Cranberry, NJ, and Carolyn Brenneke of Sun City, FL, her brothers, John Juris of Dallas, PA, and Carl Juris of Harrisburg, PA, numerous nieces and nephews, her dear friend Carrie Sewell and other friends of Asheboro, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Varner of Asheboro, NC, her parents John and Anna Juris, of Wilkes-Barre, PA, and her sister, Irene Cavanaugh, of Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro with her pastors, Ken and Pat Thames and Rev. Leslie Winslow officiating. Burial will follow in the Science Hill Friends Meeting Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro.
