Annie Dail "Ann" Davis Cagle, age 77, of Asheboro died Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mrs. Cagle was born at her family home in Seagrove, NC and was a member of First E & R United Church of Christ, where she was active in the church choir, in the church "Country Store", and was most famous for her chicken pies at the church bazaars. She was retired from Galey & Lord in Asheboro after 46 years. Mrs. Cagle was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Helen Garner Davis.
Ann loved and appreciated music. As a young lady, she took piano lessons from little Mrs. Ethel Bean. Mrs. Bean and her husband ran the Little Bean Country Store not so far from her home. Each Friday, she would go with her family so she could take her lessons. She used her talent to play the piano at New Center Christian Church for many years. She also used her talent not only to play the piano, but to share her love for singing as well.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Samuel T. "Sam" Cagle, son, Ronald William Hiatt and his wife Joyce of Sophia, NC; step daughter, Kathy Chriscoe and her husband Roger of Asheboro; granddaughter, Jenny Hardin and her husband Donny of Trinity; grandsons, Chad Chriscoe of Charlotte and Tyler Chriscoe of Asheboro; great grandchild, Hunter Hardin; brother, A.F. Davis and his wife Ruth of Seagrove; sister, Snowdene Beane and her husband Billy of Asheboro; sister, L. Sue Hayes and her husband David of Seagrove.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 23, 2012 at First E & R United Church of Christ, 221 Cliff Rd., Asheboro, NC 27203. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Asheboro. The family will receive friends at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, NC from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, January 22, 2013 and other times at her home.
