Ambert Ray Thompson, 64, of Asheboro passed away August 27, 2015 at Randolph Hospice House. He was born August 30, 1950 in Asheboro. He is the son of the late Howard Kelly Thompson and Virgie Rollins Thompson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother William Howard Thompson and nephew Raymond Arness Thompson. He is survived by his wife Lillie Mae Thompson; three stepdaughters, Nina Sue Farlow, Cindy Kidd, and Angie Luffman; brothers, Raymond and wife Louise Thompson, James Leonard and wife Ruth Thompson; nieces, Suzan Thompson Latham and Daylin Thompson Perrin and husband Allen all of Liberty; great-nieces, Meredith Thompson Uri and husband Hero of Japan, Kristen Thompson and husband Alex of Houston-Fort Worth, Texas, Savannah Latham and Chole Thompson both of Asheboro, Kaitlynn Perrin of Liberty; great-nephews, Michael Thompson and fiance Hannah of Placeville, California, Ashton Latham of Asheboro, Michael Perrin of Liberty; great-great nephews, Cameron and Dillon Sports. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation services by Pugh Funeral Home. At the request of his sister-in-law, Louise Thompson, at the time of her death, his urn will buried with her at Randolph Memorial Park. A special thank you to the staff at Brookdale where Ambert lived for many years. Also, to Asheboro Health and Rehabilitation Center and Hospice House for their kindness and consideration during his long illness.
