Alvin Eugene Strawberry Strider, age 39, of 1881 Manorview Rd, Asheboro died Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Buddy Grainger speaking. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Alvin was a native of Randolph County and attended New Market School and Randleman School. He was in the band, loved sports, animals and working with flowers. Alvin was preceded in death by his grandparents Jerry Ayers and Maggie Strider. Alvin is the son of Sandra Strider of Asheboro and Wayne Strider of Randleman; other survivors include his biological father, Eugene Glenn Hollingsworth and his wife Clara Lou; grandparents, Don and Marie Norris, Bruce and Mozelle Hollingsworth; best friend, Gail Bowman Moore; step sister, Rebecca Lamb; step brother, Kevin Prince; half-brothers Ricky and Tony Hollingsworth; nieces, Breanna Baum, Lacie Neece; nephew, Doug Staley; aunts, Linda Smart and her husband Clarence, Ann Hollingsworth; uncles, Bill Ludlam and his wife Sandra, James Hollingsworth and his wife Kathy; cousins, Wendy Owens and Sherry Williams. He has more aunts, uncles and friends who care for him. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 3, 2007 from 10:00-11:00 am at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, and other times at the home of his mother, 1881 Manorview Rd., Asheboro, NC.
