Altha Scott Smith

Altha Scott Smith, age 94, of Franklinville passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Universal Health Care of Ramseur.

The oldest of 14 children, Altha was born in Hardy, KY on May 26, 1925 to Dexter and Brooksie May Scott. Altha was a member of Shadow of the Cross Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Altha was preceded in death by her husband, Avery Smith, grandchild, Chris Smith, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.

She is survived by her daughters, Altha Carr and husband Marvin of Franklinville and Linda Scott of Panama City Beach, FL; sons, David Smith and wife Sandra of Union, SC, Roger Lynn Smith and wife Jeannie of Trinity, FL, Charles Sarka and wife Nancy of Seminole, FL, John Sarka and wife Joan of Largo, FL, and Roger Dale Sarka of Hudson, FL; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro with Pastor Lee Mead officiating. Entombment will be held in Randolph Memorial Park.
