Alta Caveness York, age 101, of 319 Stowe Ave, Asheboro died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at her home. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 13, 2009 at 2:00 pm at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor O. Ralph Kraft, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.Mrs. York was retired from Stedman Manufacturing and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hal C. York, Sr. and sons, Hal York, Jr. and James Worth York. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Sholar of the home; grandchildren, Greg Sholar of Asheboro, Mark Sholar of Morganton, Craig York of Asheboro, Lynn Smith of Asheboro, Donna York of Belmont and James York, Jr. of Belmont; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild.The family will receive friends Thursday, February 12, 2009 from 6 - 8 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
