Alta Williams Conner

Alta Williams Conner, age 89, of 507 Chestnut Street, Asheboro died Sunday, December 12, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lee Green officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Conner was a native of Randolph County and attended Shadow of the Cross Baptist Church. She was formerly employed with Mid-State Paper Box for 35 years and retired from Dixie Furniture. Alta was preceded in death by her parents, Doshia and Sam Williams, husband, Alvin Conner, sisters, Effie Morgan and Dorothy Hulin, and grandson, Harold Timothy Moffitt. She is survived by her daughter, Bernice Moffitt and her husband Harold of Asheboro; son, Kenneth Conner and his wife Gracie of Randleman; grandsons, Benny Moffitt and Lori Clifton, and Jeff Conner and his wife Martie all of Randleman; granddaughters, Darlene Pritchard and her husband Don, Loretta Long and her husband Jonathan all of Asheboro, Angela Strass and her husband Jay of Lexington; great grandchildren, Brian Moffitt and his wife Christine of Charlotte, Michael McPherson and his wife Grayson, Matthew McPherson, Neal Pritchard, Cameron Long, Kenan Long all of Asheboro, Lee Ann Martinez of Trinity; Joshua Greene of Lexington, Hayley Conner and Taylor Conner both of Star, Kenna Conner and Blake Daniels both of Randleman; great great grandchildren, Devin Moffitt and Logan Moffitt both of Charlotte, Natalie McPherson of Sophia, Kaiden McPherson, Madison McPherson, and Lacie McPherson all of Asheboro; brothers, Nolan Williams and his wife Hilda of Bryson City, Herbert Williams of Ulah; and sister, Lillian Bailey and her husband J.P. of Ulah. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
