Alta Jacqlin Christenbury

Alta Jacqlin Christenbury, age 91, of Troy died Monday, January 7, 2019 at First Health Hospice and Palliative Care, West End.

Ms. Christenbury was born January 26, 1927 in Montgomery County, NC, the daughter of the late Edgar Davidson Christenbury and the late Ada Whitaker Christenbury. She was a retired sewer from Capel Mills, Inc. where she had worked for over 20 years. She enjoyed doing crafts in her spare time. Ms. Alta loved her church and church family. She always wore a smile and was loved by all who knew her.

Ms. Christenbury is survived by close friends and caretakers, Barry and Jeanette Deaton as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 819 Mt. Carmel Church Rd., Troy, NC from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Rodney Holmes officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.
