Alma Estelle Mitchell Wagoner, age 93, of Asheboro died Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Universal Health Care of Ramseur.
Mrs. Wagoner was born September 17, 1924 in Stokes County to Edward and Ida Mitchell.
She was a 1941 graduate of Walnut Cove High School and worked in defense during WWII. Mrs. Wagoner was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and retired from Burlington Industries. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wagoner was preceded in death by her husband, Rubert Alverian Wagoner, brothers, James Morrison, Clarence, Charles, Joseph D. and John W. Mitchell and sister, Kathleen M. Tedder.
She is survived by son, Thomas Wagoner and wife Nancy of Asheboro; granddaughters, Jennifer Cole and husband Billy of Asheboro, Suzanne Redding of Asheboro; great-grandchildren, Emma, Will and Adam Cole, Wesley Redding; sister, Frankye Wright of Asheboro; sister-in-law, Carolyn Mitchell of Tampa, FL.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Tedder officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
