Alen King Vuncannon

Alen King Vuncannon, age 88, of Asheboro passed from this life to the next on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Randolph Hospice House. Mr. Vuncannon was born October 6, 1928 in Ether, NC, the son of Arlie Vuncannon and Ottie Moore Vuncannon. Alen served as an MP (Military Policeman) in the US Marine Corps. He worked in Randolph County all his life and retired from Rockwell International in Randleman in 1995. Until his loss of health he attended The Gospel Chapel in Ramseur. He had a great love for all the Word of God, but especially John 3:16. Over the years his mental and physical health faded but his faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ, stood strong. In addition to his parents, his was preceded in death by his wife; Betty Jean Allred Vuncannon, his sister; Vivian Rice, and his brother; Marion Wade Vuncannon. He is survived by his daughter Janet Rich and her husband David of Asheboro, NC; his son Mark Vuncannon and his wife Donna of Salt Lake City, UT; grandsons, Jason Rich of Asheboro, NC and Christopher Vuncannon.
