Alberta Hill Poole, age 100, formerly of Old Lexington Rd., Asheboro died Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Blumenthal Jewish Home in Greensboro.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Sawyersville Wesleyan Church, 157 Sawyersville Rd., Asheboro with Rev. Jeff Garner and Rev. Darrell Rabon officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
Mrs. Poole was born in Randolph County on May 7, 1912 to Virgil and Bertha Trotter Hill. She was employed with Acme-McCrary Corporation for 30 years and was a member of Sawyersville Wesleyan Church. In addition to her parents, Alberta was preceded in death by her husband Horace Lee Poole, son Linley Clay Poole, great grandson Matthew Poole, sister Maxine Pugh, and brothers Reitzel Hill and Henry Lee Hill.
She is survived by her son, Max Thomas Poole and his wife Linda of Brown Summit; grandchildren, Debra Hill of Asheboro, Barry Poole of Asheboro, Mark Poole of Greensboro, Elizabeth Poole of Greensboro; 8 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Janie Poole of Asheboro; sisters, Edith Sears of Gibsonville, Ava Routh of Asheboro, Allene Jarvis of Sanford; half sisters, Margaret Butler of Oak Island, Annie Mae Robbins of Asheboro, Betty Green and her husband Bud of Asheboro, Faye Phillips and her husband Jim of Asheboro; half brother, Oscar Hill and his wife Nada Jade of Asheboro; and brother-in-law, John Q. Pugh, Jr. of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 5, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
