Throughout his life, Alan embodied the values of family, faith, and adventure.
Alan graduated from Carbon High School in 1961 and two years later on July 13, 1963 he married the love of his life, Virgina Wallace Shaw. Their love was deep, their bond unbreakable, and in 1988 they sealed that bond for eternity in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.
Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and joy. Alan was a man who loved the outdoors. Whether riding through scenic landscapes or enjoying nature’s beauty, he found peace and happiness in the world around him. But even more than the call of the wild, Alan’s true passion was his family. He cherished every moment spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends. His spirit of adventure was passed down through generations, inspiring his family to live life to the fullest.
Alan is survived by his loving wife, Virginia, who stood by his side through every chapter of their incredible journey together; his children, Marvin Shaw and Kimberly Parry, along with their spouses, Debra Shaw and Bryan Parry, continue to carry on his legacy of love and strength. Alan’s pride and joy extended to his grandchildren, Amber and Ociel Lerma, Andrew and Jasmine Shaw, Trevor and Shea Parry, Amanda Shaw, Adam and Lexi Shaw, Justin and Kaylee Parry, Aaron and Ella Shaw, and Alisa Shaw; and his great-grandchildren, Melanie Lerma, Titus Shaw, Max Lerma, Mateo Parry, Fallon Parry, and Cooper Parry. Each one of them holds a special piece of his heart.
Alan is preceded in death by his parents, Garald and Wanda Shaw; sister, Garaldine Nichols; and brother, Harold Shaw.
Alan lived a full life, marked by kindness, faith, and adventure. His presence was a blessing and his influence will continue to shine through his family and friends. As we remember him today, we celebrate not just the man he was, but the legacy of love and unity he leaves behind. May his adventurous spirit guide us all as we carry his memory in our hearts, and may we find peace knowing that he is now resting, having lived a life of love and purpose. Rest in peace, Alan.
