Adelaide Helen Hancock

Adelaide Helen Hancock, age 93, of 127 Spencer St., Randleman died Friday, January 2, 2009 at her home.Mrs. Hancock was born April 18, 1916 in Douglas, GA the daughter of Nathaniel Thomas and Rebecca Jane (Purvis) Douglas. Mrs. Hancock was retired from Mr. Jeans. She enjoyed working in her flowers. In addition to her parents, Adelaide is preceded in death by her husband: John Hancock: and a brother: N.T. Douglas.She is survived by three daughters: Elaine Lundy and her husband, Clifford of Randleman, Margaret Boyd and her husband, Roy of Charlotte, and Maxine Durham of Greensboro, two sons: Wayne Hancock and Douglas Hancock and his wife, Melody all of Randleman, grandson, Michael Hancock of the home, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, neice, Judy Baker and her family of Sophia.The family will receive friends Sunday, January 4, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman. The funeral will be held Monday, January 5, 2009 at 11:00 am at Midway Wesleyan Church, 331 Worthville Rd., Randleman with Rev. J. Arnold Luther officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family wants to extend a special "Thank You" to Helen Jarett for her tender loving care given to Adelaide over the past few months.Memorials may be made to Hospice Of Randolph, P.O.
