Adam Torres Almodovar

Adam Torres Almodovar, age 62, of 1315 Willow Downs Court, Asheboro died Thursday, July 16, 2009 in Asheboro.Adam was a best friend, and the best father and grandfather. He was known a person who would always be there for you, a person who would give you the "shirt off his back". He was the founder and president of the Latino Association of North Carolina. He organized the first Latino parade in Asheboro last month, the first Cinco de Mayo holiday festival in Asheboro, and the first Latino Heritage Day last October.A native of Puerto Rico he was raised from early childhood in New York City, NY. After his retirement from the City of New York he moved his family to Asheboro. He is survived by his wife: Lyz Almodovar, two daughters: Jesika Bravo of Asheboro, NC, Amanda Almodovar of Asheboro, NC, grandson, Adam Joseph Bravo of Asheboro, NC, two brothers: Saul Torres of New York, NY, Angel Torres of Puerto Rico, and a niece, Isabel Alvarez of Asheboro, NCThe family will receive friends Tuesday, July 21st from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NCMemorials may be made to Latino Association of North Carolina, 1315 Willow Downs Court, Asheboro, NC 27205
