Adam Torres Almodovar, age 62, of 1315 Willow Downs Court, Asheboro died Thursday, July 16, 2009 in Asheboro.Adam was a best friend, and the best father and grandfather. He was known a person who would always be there for you, a person who would give you the "shirt off his back". He was the founder and president of the Latino Association of North Carolina. He organized the first Latino parade in Asheboro last month, the first Cinco de Mayo holiday festival in Asheboro, and the first Latino Heritage Day last October.A native of Puerto Rico he was raised from early childhood in New York City, NY. After his retirement from the City of New York he moved his family to Asheboro.
