A. Lindsay Shirley, age 64, Randleman died Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mr. Shirley was a native of Randolph County and a graduate from Randleman High School. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Lindsay was a member of First United Methodist Church and oversaw the sound system, and served as a sexton. Lindsay was the manager at Namco Time Out for 28 years. He also worked at Bally's Aladin's Castle and Laughlin Hosiery Mill. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ruth Shirley; sister-in-law, Linda Thornton.
He is survived by his wife: Ruby Thornton Shirley of the home; step-son: Daniel Davis Walker; sisters: Sharon Trim and her husband Houston of Randleman, Janice Craven and her husband Glenn of Asheboro and Carolyn Edwards and her husband Mike of Greensboro; sister-in-laws Louise Rabon, and Shirley Halsey; brother-in-law: Gene Thornton; several nieces and nephews; Pets, Smoke and Queen.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 12:30 - 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, 301 S. Main St., Randleman, NC. The memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm. with Dr. Dana Bunn officiating.
Military honors will be presented by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
