A. J. Robinson, Jr.

Arnold James "A.J." Robinson, Jr., age 86, of 401 Lambert Rd, Biscoe, formerly of Troy, died Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Mr. Robinson was born August 9, 1924 in Mt. Gilead, NC, the son of Arnold James and Bertha Blake Robinson. He served in the US Army from 1943 to 1946 during World War II . He was of the Baptist faith and a former employee of Capels, Inc. He is survived by his wife: Virginia P Robinson of Albemarle; one daughter: Helen R Hobbs of Garner; one sister: Annie Mae Moore of Biscoe; one stepson: Gilbert Green of Troy; one grandson, one great-granddaughter; one step-granddaughter, two step-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 N Main St., Troy, Thursday from 6 pm - 7:30 pm with funeral service immediately following. A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 am in Southside Cemetery, Troy with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Rev. Bill Turnmire will be officiating.
