Rev. William T. Burke, age 94, of Asheboro peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 23, 2013.
Mr. Burke was born September 15, 1919 in Randolph County to Addison and Maggie Burke. He was a former minister at Biscoe Baptist Church. Mr. Burke retired from Klopman Mills of Biscoe, was formerly employed with Acme McCrary Corp and was a greeter at Wal-Mart in Asheboro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Mason Burke, son, Roger Burke, grandson, William B. Allan and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by sons, Eddie Burke and wife Karen of Raleigh, Billy Burke, Jr. and wife Rachael of Burlington; daughters, Debbie Burke of Asheboro, NC, Ann Sargent and husband John of Liberty; grandchildren, Kristy Bishop and husband Joseph of Raleigh, Jennifer Casas and husband Felix of Asheboro, Teri Hulin and husband Mike of Liberty, Alan, Michael and Wendy Sargent, Kevin and Paula Burke; 14 great grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren; sister, Bronna Phillips and husband Ted of High Falls; special friend, Jean Housand; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 28, 2013 from 12:30-1:30pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, other times at the home of Debbie Burke, 201 Dundee St., Asheboro. A graveside service will be held Monday, October 28, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Randolph Memorial Park with Rev. Larry Stines officiating.
