Rachel Carolyn Sneed

Rachel Lynthacum Sneed, age 78, of Candor, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at First Health Hospice and Palliative Care, Pinehurst, NC. Rachel was born February 19, 1939 at Montgomery County, the daughter of Ernest Franklin and Jewel Thompson Lynthacum, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church of Troy. She was a homemaker before retiring on disability from Russ-Mont Hosiery after 25 years of service. Mrs. Sneed enjoyed yard work, especially working in her flowers. She made many quilts, giving them to family and friends. She was a caregiver to anyone needing help, always putting other's needs before hers. She is survived by her husband, William Sneed; children: Jackie Brock and wife Linda of Troy, Billy Smith and Lenda of Biscoe, Kelly Burleson and husband Ken of Albemarle, Paul Smith and wife Melissa of Candor; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Lynthacum and wife Peggy of Troy and sister, Geneva Crotts of Thomasville. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, April 18, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 N Main St., Troy; other times at the home of Jackie and Linda Brock. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Richard Lynthacum officiating. Burial will follow at Southside Cemetery, Troy.
