Orpah Blanche Cook

Orpah Blanche Cook, age 97, of Asheboro, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Woodland Hill Care & Rehabilitation. She was born in Gibsonville in 1915 and was raised in Altamahaw. She has been preceded in death by her parents, David Thomas "D.T." Cook and Nettie Lynn Cook; her sisters, Myrtle Cook and Ruth Cook Barber; and her brothers, Jessie Cook, Paul Cook, Silas Cook, and Roy (Bill) Cook. She is survived by her sister, Naomi Cook Fagg of Randleman; brother, Charlie Cook of Burlington and several nieces and nephews. Orpah loved her family immensely and spoke often of "Mama and Papa" and getting to see them again. She spent her life in the service of her family and her God and was a member of Altamahaw Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery in Altamahaw with Pastor Jonathan Shook officiating. Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is serving the Cook family.
