Mary Ann (Mac) Conner Fairley, 86, of Asheboro died Friday, July 27, 2018 at her home.
Mrs. Fairley was born May 3, 1932 in Windsor, Bertie County, NC to George Alpheus and Mary Ann Cale Conner. She graduated from Windsor High School in Windsor, NC in 1950. She graduated from Rex Hospital School of Nursing in 1953 as a registered nurse. She was a member of ANA, American Nurses Association for more than 50 years. Mary Ann worked as a registered nurse at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro and at Randolph County Health Department in Asheboro. She was an avid bridge player and was in four different bridge clubs. She dearly loved all animals and enjoyed observing them - from the many animals at the N.C. Zoo to the birds and squirrels in her own back yard which she fed and watched every day. She was a lifetime member of the Episcopal Church.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Archie Blair Fairley, Jr. and siblings, Raymond Conner of Boston, MA, George A. Conner Jr. of Currituck, NC, Edith C. Kirby of Memphis, TN and Clara C. Reeder of Boonsboro, MD and parents, George A. and Mary Ann Conner of Windsor, NC.
She is survived by daughters, Sherry Fairley Davis and husband Christopher M. Davis of Mebane, NC, Beki Fairley Kincheloe of Augusta, GA and Janet Fairley Lawrence and husband Kenneth W. Lawrence of Angier, NC; grandchildren, John Stevenson Kincheloe, Robert Fairley Kincheloe and Kristen Nicole Lawrence.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 505 Mountain Road, Asheboro with The Reverend Joe Mitchell officiating. There will be a short reception following the service in the Parrish Hall.
