Junius "J.R." Raymond Clark, age 76, of Troy died Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Mr. Clark was born April 11, 1942 in Montgomery County, the son of the late Junius Raymond Clark and the late Gladys (Maness) Clark.
J.R. was a former supervisor for Southern Correctional Institution (Minimum Security Unit) and former Montgomery County Deputy Sheriff, and a retired Security Director at Wingate University. After retirement, he began driving a logging truck as a contract hauler.
He is survived by his wife: Julia Adams Clark; sons: Neal Clark and his wife Carolyn, Michael Clark and his wife Julie J. all of Troy; daughter Melissa Dunn and her husband Bobby of Troy; Step daughters: Suzie Bradford and her husband Doyle of Franklin TN, Gail Bruton and her husband Danny of Mt. Gilead and Jane Humphries Ponds of Southport; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and a sister Marie Blankenship of Mt. Gilead.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 2, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Forks of Little River Baptist Church, 2356 Okeeweemee-Star Road, Troy with Rev. Danny VunCannon officiating. Burial will follow in Forks of Little River Baptist Church Cemetery.
