Charles Manley Moore, age 85, of Franklinville passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020 at his home.
Mr. Moore was born in Burlington, NC on October 27,1934 to W.J. Moore, Sr. and Mattie Foreman Moore. Charles retired from Western Electric after 23 years of service and was the original owner of Moore's Roofing in Burlington. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his sister, Jo Ann Hopkins.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Jane Pugh Moore; daughters, Sharon Humbles (Jim) of Washington, VA and Karen Fererro (Kevin) of Burlington; grandchildren, Jeff Duggins (Erica) of Burlington, Jonathan Duggins (Robin) of Burlington, Jeremy Duggins (Brooke) of Danielsville, GA, Megan Humbles of Stafford, VA, and Caitlin Humbles of Stafford, VA; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, W. J. Moore of St. Augustine, FL and George Moore of Graham; and sisters, Rachel Williamson of Burlington and Lou Spitzner of Mebane.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to all his caregivers over the past six years, especially Laura, Lauren, and Ashley and to the staff of Hospice of Randolph.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeremiah Johnson and Jeremy Duggins officiating.
