Burnie David "B.D." Greene, age 92, of Asheboro died Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Universal Health Care of Ramseur.
B.D. was born April 14, 1923 in Ellerbe, NC, the son of David Douglas and Martha Ellen King Greene and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a former owner and partner of Certified Concrete Company, now Chandler Concrete and was retired from B.D. Greene Concrete. He was a member of West Bend UMC and was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Thompson Greene and son, Phillip Greene.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Loman Greene; Son, Keith Greene of Sarasota, FL; Step-daughters, Laura Eubanks and Kelly and her husband, Russell Westhoff of Asheboro, NC; Grandchildren, Anna and her husband, Daniel Mellinger of Philadelphia, PA, Ingrid and her husband, Scott Hunt of Asheboro, Megan Gallimore and her fiancé, Jordan Champion, Karter Westhoff, and Piper Westhoff, all of Asheboro; Great Grandchildren, Victoria and Ben Hunt, and Hayes Champion; sisters, Jewel Sheffield of Robbins, Vivian Crouch of Asheboro, Elizabeth Sexton of Denton, and Carmelette Payne of Ramseur, NC; Brothers, Gurnie Greene and Howard Greene, both of Seagrove, and Eddie Greene of Asheboro, and his best canine buddy, Humphrey.
The family will receive friends from Noon-1:30 PM Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will follow in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Terry Matthews and Dr. Don Bartley officiating. Entombment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
