Claude Byron Wood

Claude Byron Wood, age 80, of Troy died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Sandy Ridge Assisted Living, Candor. Byron was born April 1, 1936 in Sampson County, NC, the son of Lloyd Thomas and Monta Clark Wood. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Troy where he served on the Board of Deacons and a member of the adult choir. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Celia Andrews and a brother, Lloyd Thomas (Tommy) Wood. He is survived by his son: Fernando Q. Tayag (Ronnie) and grandchildren, all of the Philippines; one sister: Carolyn Plowman of Troy; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Troy, 401 E. Main St., Troy. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2 pm with Dr. John Morris officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, Troy.
