Obituary of Kathleen Hooker

Willie Kathleen (Bill) Stanton Hooker, 87 years old from Level Cross, went home to be with the Lord and her Sam on January 22, 2018 in the presence of her loved ones.

Kathleen was born to Winnie Davis Stanton and Cammie Elwood Stanton on January 7, 1931. She was born in her old home place on a hill in Level Cross Township. Kathleen loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a hard worker her whole life, a huge Nascar fan and loved to discuss politics and current events. She was a very independent and private lady but was known also for telling it like it was. Kathleen was formerly an employee of Laughlin Hosiery Mill and retired after 20 plus years from Oakdale Cotton Mill in Jamestown.

In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by the love of her life, Sam Hooker; sisters, Frances York and Emma Lee Prevo.

She is survived by her son Max Hooker and wife Julia of Level Cross; brother, George Stanton and wife Mary of Level Cross; grandsons, Daniel Hooker and wife Erica of Climax and Samuel Hooker of Level Cross; step grandsons, Dakota and Jason Thomas Abernethy of Asheboro; great granddaughter, Madison Hooker of Climax; step great grandsons, Jackson and Isaiah Abernethy of Asheboro; and several nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to her long time friend Donna Hedgecock, Hospice nurse Hilliary Bunting and CNA Kathy Pate. Kathleen had a special bond with Miss Dollie the store greeter at Randleman Wal-Mart also.

Per Kathleen's request, she wishes to be cremated with no visitation or memorial services. To be buried beside her husband at Centre Friends with a private ceremony at a later date.
