Jerry Grady Hatley

Jerry Grady Hatley, age 75, of Asheboro passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Randolph Hospice House.

Mr. Hatley was born in Randolph County on October 21, 1942 to John Grady and Margie Furr Hatley. Jerry attended Bethel Baptist Church. Jerry was formerly employed as a Pharmacy Assistant with Asheboro Drug, a former reserve officer with the Randolph County Sheriff Department and the Asheboro Police Department, and was employed with the Randolph County DMV office. Jerry was currently employed as a Crossing Guard with Donna Lee Loflin Elementary School and worked part-time at Thomas Tire. He was the owner/operator of Hatley Lathe Shop. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Clayton Hatley and grandson, John Miller.

He is survived by his daughters, Krista Trotter of Asheboro and Jennifer Miller and husband Harvey of Asheboro; son, Jerry "Jay" Hatley and wife Johnell of Asheboro; grandchildren, Lisa Hatley of Raleigh, Alex Dixon of Asheboro, Trey Hatley of Asheboro, Lane Hatley of Asheboro, Jason Hatley of Asheboro, Richard "Ricky" Trotter of Nashville, TN, Matthew Trotter of Lexington, Kevin Miller and wife Brittany of Asheboro, Dalton Miller of Asheboro; and great grandson, Andrew Miller of Asheboro.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 12:00-1:45 pm at Bethel Baptist Church, 4836 Robbins Circle Rd., Asheboro and other times at the home of Krista Trotter, 997 Forest Lake Dr., Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Jody Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
