Aileen Burns Brown of Troy died Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care, Pinehurst, NC. 

Aileen was born March 3, 1920 in Montgomery County, the daughter of Carl and Mamie Lomax Burns. 

She was a dedicated member of First Wesleyan Church of Troy, where she served as Sunday School Treasurer for over 30 years.  She always put God first in her life followed by her family and friends.  She was a loving and kind lady who enjoyed gardening. 

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Jim Brown; daughter, Carolyn Brown Kearns; grand-daughter, Jamie Brown. 

She is survived by one son, Joe (JoAnn) Brown  of Myrtle Beach, SC;  Grandchildren Scott (Tomoko) Brown of Oxford, Ohio,  Phillip Kearns of Roswell,  NM, and Eric Kearns of Asheboro; Great-Grandchildren , Kei Brown, Kai Brown, Megan Kearns (Kyle Stanley), and one Great-Great Grandchild, Easton Stanley;  one sister, Rebecca (Paul) Gordon of Troy.

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 4, 2017, from 1:15 PM to 2:15 PM in the church sanctuary at First Wesleyan Church; a funeral service will follow at 2:30 PM with Dr. Ed Lindsey officiating.    Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Flowers would be appreciated, however, the family would be pleased that donations be made to First Wesleyan Memorial Fund, 1268 NC Hwy. 134 N., Troy, NC  27371, or FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care, 150 Applecross Rd., Pinehurst, NC  28374.
