Allan Thomas Parsons, Jr.

Allan Thomas "June" Parsons, Jr. age 79, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Carolinas Healthcare System Stanly, Albemarle, NC. June was born July 24, 1937 in Montgomery County, NC, the son of Allan T. and Carrie Lamonds Parsons. He was an active member of First Wesleyan Church of Troy and a US Army veteran. He worked many years as Superintendent for W.H. Weaver Construction Co., Site, Inc., Bill McCann Inc., and N.C. Monroe Construction Co. as well as being a licensed contractor himself. He enjoyed fishing, water sports, auto racing and was an avid football fan. He also loved music, studying his Bible and cooking anytime for his family and friends. He enjoyed life and shared a unique sense of humor with all people. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Carol Blalock Parsons. He is survived by four children: Sharon Pigford and husband Boyce, Gail Saunders and husband Jamey, Tracy Parsons, Kasey Batten and husband Ricky, all of Troy; two sisters: Josephine Parsons Haywood of Mt. Gilead and Louise Parsons of Asheboro; sister-in-law: Jo Ann Nooe of Troy. He is survived by 10 grandchildren: Grant (Sabrina), Laurie (Ryan), Kerri (Adrian), Todd, Justin (Renee), Samantha, Thomas, Alec, Nick and Kameron; 2 step-grandchildren 8 great-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 1:00 pm – 2:45 pm at First Wesleyan Church, 1368 NC Hwy 134N, Troy; other times at the home located at 516 Wooley St., Troy. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation at 3:00 pm with Dr. Edward Lindsey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to First Wesleyan Church, 1368 NC Hwy 134N, Troy, NC 27371.
