Curtis William Shepard

DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS THIS SERVICE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO WEDNESDAY.... Curtis William Shepard, age 59, of Candor passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte. Curtis was born July 27, 1957 in Montgomery County, NC, the son of Montgomery and Rosie Marie Johnson Shepard. He was an active member of Holly Mount Baptist Church, a crane operator with twenty-two years of service in the lumber industry. He loved his family, was a good provider, enjoyed hunting and was a prankster. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother: Otho Lee Shepard, and a niece: Sherry Howell. Curtis is survived by his wife, Dawn Shepard; two daughters: Kayla Rose Shepard and Courtney Shepard; two brothers: David Shepard and wife Linda and children: Tiffany Haywood and Katie Shepard of Candor; Hal Shepard of Candor; two sisters: Sara Howell and husband Danny and daughter Rena Howell of Candor; Nancy Locklear and children Tracy and Sandy of Candor; nieces Casey Deaton, Carrie McNeil and Angie Shepard. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 2:30 pm at Holly Mount Baptist Church, Holly Mount Church Rd., Mt. Gilead with the Rev. Ben Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church thirty minutes prior to the service; other times at the home.
