Louise Gooch Kimes

Carrie Louise Gooch Kimes, age 82, of Asheboro passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home. Mrs. Kimes was born in Franklinville on June 25, 1934 to Roy Lee and Betty Jane Trogdon Gooch. She was retired from Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital after 25 years as a Registered Nurse. Louise was a member of Giles Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband John Grover Kimes, son Richard O. Kimes, and sisters Jeanne Gooch, Mary Frances Brady, and Sue Shores. She is survived by her sons, Roy Thomas "Tom" Kimes and wife Carolyn of Cary and John Grover Kimes, Jr. and wife Lori of Greensboro; grandchildren, Ashley D. Bunce and husband Jeremy of Thomasville, Alexandra C. Kimes of Greensboro, Catherine H. Kimes of Cary, Olivia L. Kimes of Greensboro, John Walter Kimes and wife Melissa of Greensboro; great grandchildren, Chase L. Bunce of Thomasville, Reese Bunce of Thomasville, Ella Kimes of Greensboro; sisters, Marie Frazier of Virginia Beach, VA, Margaret Moore of Spokane, WA, Ann Gallimore of Asheboro; and brother, Roy Lee Gooch and wife Mary Lou of Lady Lake, FL. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Giles Chapel United Methodist Church, 1627 Giles Chapel Rd., Asheboro with Rev. Michael Lee officiating.
