Katherine Tucker Moore

Katherine Tucker Moore, age 89, of Troy passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Autumn Care of Biscoe. Katherine was born January 25, 1927 in Montgomery County, NC, the daughter of James Reid and Ethel Morgan Tucker. Katherine was a faithful member of First Wesleyan Church of Troy. She was a former administrative assistant at Capels, Inc. until her retirement with thirty-plus years of service. She later worked part-time at Montgomery Community College. She was a kind, gentle and dedicated lady who enjoyed working with flowers, especially her African Violets. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George B. Moore; a brother, Grover Tucker and two sisters, Wilma McFarland and Joyce Tucker. She is survived by her children: Sharon Tysinger and husband, Joel of Lexington, Clay Moore and wife "T" of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Kathie Rollins of Troy and Pat Moore of Garner; two sisters: Raymell Houck of New Holland, PA and Peggy Guzman of East Earl, PA; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, December 23, 2016 from 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm at First Wesleyan Church, 1368 NC Hwy 134N, Troy; Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Dr. Edward Lindsey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends other times at the home.
