Georgia Routh Menius

Georgia Ward Routh Menius, age 103, of Asheboro passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Mrs. Menius was born in Metter, GA on February 28, 1913. She was formerly employed with Bossong Hosiery Mill and was a homemaker. Georgia was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Routh in 1984 and her daughter, Doris Jane Routh. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Robert "Bobby" Menius; daughter, Linda Tinkler and husband Bruce of Asheboro; step-sons, Ed Menius and wife Sherree of Asheboro, Dr. Jim Menius of Greensboro, Bill Menius of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Kelly Shipley and husband Curtis of Asheboro, Elizabeth Wilson and husband Tim of Raleigh, Katie Lagos and husband Will of Richmond, VA; Jackson Menius of Brooklyn, NY; great grandchildren, Georgia, Mac, Finn, and Piper Shipley, Ellie Wilson, William, Samuel, and Annalise Lagos; and special nephew, George Richard "Buster" Ward of Greensboro; and caregiver Linda Cranford. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Monday at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Scotty Carpenter and Rev. Mark Hall officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
