Pre-NeedPrearrangements For generations we have assisted families with the burden of making funeral arrangements during times of stress. To help ease that burden, we have a prearrangement program that allows an individual to record their desires and wishes in advance. It may be as simple as placing some notes in a file. Some families, however, want to avoid rising costs and choose to prefinance the funeral service. If this option is preferred 100% of all monies received are placed in trust and are audited by the State. Regardless of the individual's wishes, our staff is available to assist. If you have already made prearrangements with another funeral firm, we will honor those arrangements at any of our locations. Retirement planning involves looking at many issues and certainly funeral prearrangement should be part of that process. We also recommend consulting with legal and financial professionals to insure you and your family are aware of any issues and protected as much as possible. If you are needing to file for Medicaid, you should be aware that a pre paid funeral contract is not counted in your allowable assets. The plight and death of Terry Schiavo in Florida has opened the eyes of many people to the inherent value of planning ahead. You may need to prepare or revise your will and have other legal documents prepared. One document that can be completed fairly easily is the Declaration Of A Desire For A Natural Death. In North Carolina this form is included in the North Carolina General Statute 90-321. If you wish a copy you can click here North Carolina Statutory Form, NC Gen. Stat. 90-321. Please note this form may not be recognized in other states.

The second annual Take-a-Kid-Fishing Tournament was held in early June on Lake Tillery. Forty four boats entered, with over eighty persons participating. The teams included Dads and sons, and daughters. Sherrill Bumgarner worked hard to put this together. With his work and the excellent support of primarily the Montgomery County Community we were able to donate $1,000 to both the Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts of Montgomery County. |
