Herbert Wesley Pugh, age 92, of Franklinville died Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 27, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Agape Faith Church in Clemmons with Pastor Robert Barr and Rev. Doug Miller officiating. Burial will be in Grays Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Franklinville.

Mr. Pugh was a native of Randolph County and a lifetime member of Grays Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving as a White House guard during WWII. Mr. Pugh was retired from the U. S. Post Office after 36 years of service, was a member of the Lions Club and an avid gardener. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Bunting Pugh and 12 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by daughter, Gwen Sutton and her husband Tim of Lewisville; grandchildren, Bethany, Philip and Joy Sutton; great granddaughters, Rayne and Isabella; sisters, Juanita Strades of Lugolf, SC, Joyce Pates of Bethesda, MD.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 26, 2010 from 6 to 8 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
